Pentagon Spam Warfare
"In a novel use of information warfare, the Pentagon has sent e-mail to Iraqi generals to encourage defections and warn against carrying out any order from President Saddam Hussein to use chemical or germ weapons against U.S. or allied forces, an official said on condition of anonymity." (AP). According to a Lou Dobbs reporter at CNN, the return address on this e-mail spam is purposely bogus. What do you think?
Robert Duncan, CEO
"If that doesn't work I have a great e-mail message we can send them about breast enlargement lotion for only $19.95."
Terry Jenner, Salesperson
"I don't get it. How will they know where the generals are when they drop the e-mails from the plane?"
Clark Bender, Taxi Driver
"Wait just one minute, the Homeland Security alert is on yellow for terrorists but red for spammers."Darleen Edwards, Librarian
"I'm presently in e-mail communication with a Nigerian general who has $17 million in gold but is under house arrest and wants me to be his contact with the outside world. Maybe he'd let us use some of that money to bribe the Iraqi generals."
Ted Daniels, Office Manager
"In these troubled times it's our patriotic duty as Americans to spam whom the Pentagon tells us to spam. Spam is an American meat and spamming is the American way, and that's what makes our country great." James Jackson, Business Student
