GARLIC ASKS ABOUT BUSH LEAVING KIDS BEHIND
While Bush made much of his concern for children during the campaign, his budget proposes an 18% reduction in programs dealing with child abuse. He also plans to eliminate all the money that Congress has provided for child care. Although he said education was his top priority, his proposals slow growth in education spending. Until the public made a stink, he had planned to eliminate testing of school ground beef for salmonella, but he still plans to allow a higher amount of arsenic in kids' drinking water. When children get sick, more of them will be uninsured because Bush is cutting back on that as well. What happened to Bush's vow to leave no child behind?
"Mr. Bush promised to sign the campaign finance reform bill when it reaches his desk. Thanks to him, I'm sure that when soft money is eliminated the children will be saved."Darleen Edwards, Librarian
"I'm with Bush. What have future generations ever done for me?"
Clark Bender, Taxi Driver
"I know I should be angry, but Bush is so cute in THAT'S MY BUSH that I have to love him!"
Terry Jenner, Salesperson
"As the father of a boy scout, I'm sure that Mr. Bush only means to punish gay children."Ted Daniels, Office Manager
"Haven't you read A MODEST PROPOSAL? Get real! Bush is a satiric genius!" James Jackson, English Student
"I'm sorry, but it's vital to the health of the U.S. economy that we destroy the children."
Robert Duncan, CEO
