TODAY'S COMMENT
First, his brother rigged the election by illegally purging voters from the roles, but he still didn't get enough to win. So his political party paid a mob of their employees to start a riot and stop the votes from getting counted. A few days later, a couple of judges with family members on his payroll provided the decisive votes to declare him the winner.
Within a year, he was repeatedly bragging that he had hit the "trifecta", by which he meant a war, a recession, and a national emergency. It was a strange thing to brag about, but it was true, all three had come to pass since his coup de tat.
The recession began when it became obvious that massive deficits would be brought on by his tax cut, the vast majority of which went to a tiny minority of millionaires who had funded his startling ascension to the pinnacle of global power. The war began after his surrogates deliberately threatened well-known terrorists with imminent extermination, while simultaneously softening the nation's key defenses against those very terrorists. As it happened, the attacks came while he was setting the record for the most time any President had ever spent away from his office. The terrorists then attacked the greatest super-power the world has ever known with knives, as he scurried about looking for someplace even more remote to hide.
During the days after the attacks he grounded all air traffic, but an exception was made for the relatives of the terrorists, who had prior business dealings with his father, who were allowed to fly out of the country. Simultaneously, the leader of the only branch of the government not controlled by his party was attacked with biological weapons, which almost certainly originated from an individual associated with an agency under his direct authority, or one of their contractors. While the opposition leader survived, the biological attacks forced he and his colleagues from their offices for months.
An irrational fear among the populace was then fomented by repeated announcements of unspecific threats of future terrorist attacks, attacks which never materialized. The pseudo-hysteria this propaganda campaign was able to muster was labeled a national emergency, and while the opposition party was unable to occupy their offices, he declared a never-ending war against an amorphous collection of enemies scattered everywhere across the globe. Despite the fact that he could not definitively identify the goals or combatants of this war, he demanded the country go into hundreds of billions of dollars of debt to pursue it. Leaders from his party attacked the patriotism of any who dared question any aspect of this ambiguous plan, and accused them of conspiring with the enemy. His military commanders announced that they would deliberately lie to the media but then later retracted the announcement, begging reporters to ask the question; where they lying then, or were they lying now?
It was impossible to tell, because from the minute he entered office, he systematically removed from public view all government records related not only to his administration, but also from his father's, dating back more than 20 years. He is currently fighting several lawsuits, one by the government's own independent auditors, to maintain the secrecy of those records. At the same time, he has freely released any records of his predecessor that could conceivably embarrass or discredit him. His surrogates have repeatedly lied about his predecessor, his commanders have repeatedly lied about events on the battlefield, and his Vice President has moved to a secure location, from which he refuses to release records related to the biggest bankruptcy in history of the world. Simultaneously, his senior staff set up a shadow government from secure facilities far away. The legislative branch was only informed of this shadow government through a press leak.
Who knows what the future holds?...

Dear Dubya,
You little sneaky, stealthy President of ours! While we were all
celebrating Valentine's day, you managed to appoint John M. Poindexter as
head of your domestic espionage division, the Information Awareness Office
(IAO).
John is such an excellent choice to spearhead a domestic espionage office!
In June 1981, John M. Poindexter joined the National Security Council in
Ronald Reagan's White House. On October 17, 1983 Ronald Reagan appointed
John as Deputy Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs. At
that post John succeeded Robert C. McFarlane. Together with Col. Oliver L.
North, John put the Iran-Contra Team together. In his office in the White
House John was really the spider in the web, coordinating the activities of
Ronald Reagan's Ambassador to Honduras, John D. Negroponte, Ronnie's Master
of Disinformation, Otto Jan Reich, Iran/Contra arms supplier Adnan
Khashoggi, Central Asia expert Richard Armitage, Southern Air's Eugene
Hasenfuss and hundreds of other operatives. By appointing John M.
Poindexter you continued to surround yourself with heroes from our glorious
past. Richard Armitage and Otto Juan Reich have already joined your Honor
and Dignity Team. By appointing John D. Negroponte as U.S. Ambassador to the
United Nations, you sent a loud and clear message around the globe that your
Government was sure to follow the long-standing Iran-Contra reputation of
Ronald Reagan!! John M. Poindexter adds another brick to the stonewall of
your compassionate conservative government!
John M. Poindexter's loyalty to the President is unquestionable. When the
Iran-Contra Operation blew up, John and Oliver North deleted more than 5,000
emails from the White House computer system. As John put it to U.S.
Congress: "I made a very deliberate decision not to tell the President so
that I could insulate him from the decision and provide some future
deniability for the President if it (the Iran-Contra Operation) ever leaked
out". So, John ran the U.S. Foreign Policy Operation behind the back of his
Commander-in-Chief and all of U.S. Congress. For this loyalty Ronald Reagan
made John Poindexter Rear Admiral.
John M. Poindexter also was accused of looking the other way when some of the Iran-Contra
operatives were alleged to have engaged in a little cocaine trafficking. The government of Costa
Rica never managed to indict John for any involvement in cocaine
trafficking, however. But, on July 20, 1989, it
banned John M. Poindexter, Col. Oliver L. North, Richard V. Secord, former
U.S. Ambassador to Costa Rica, Lewis Tambs, and CIA Station Chief Joe
Fernandez from ever again entering Costa Rica. The Government of Costa Rica
just didn't show any compassion to those poor U.S. Government officials,
who were accused of raising funds for the contras!! MORE
But your novel Information Awareness Office (IAO) and your Information
Exploitation Office (IEO) will not have to suffer from poor funding: thanks
to your budget, they will get $48 billion per year!!
The Information Awareness Office (IAO) and the Information Exploitation
Office (IEO) are both a product of the Defense Advanced Research Projects
Agency (DARPA) of the Pentagon. The IAO will monitor all e-mails and phone
conversations domestic and abroad, and provide you with their "instant
analyses". While the IAO targets Americans, the IEO will watch all of
abroad. John is the best guy possible for that job. During the past years
he has worked for a DARPA associated company called Syntek technologies.
John headed the development of "Genoa", the clandestine intelligence mining
and harvesting system that soon will monitor and explore all U.S. computer
networks and databases. John sure is valuable asset to your National
Security State, and during his year in Ronald Reagan's White House he showed
that he has the right mindset for a faithful and reliable Official of the
Government of the Christian Corporation of America!!
God Bless 'Merica,
Your Nancy
I was with at least 300 people across the street from the
Hilton in downtown Mpls where Dumbya was speaking this afternoon. The
demonstration was powerful. It was great to see a decent turnout. It's
unfortunate that the gutless and cowardly media didn't do its job, which is
supposed to report the news. On channel 4 on the 10:00pm news the
newscasters outright lied and reported that only a handful of protestors
were present to "throw pretzels". Apparently a couple of protestors did
throw pretzels and were arrested for doing so. This incident happened
before I arrived at the demonstration. Channel 4 not only deliberately lied
about the number of protestors present, but it failed to report the
protestors arrested for throwing pretzels. It's no surprise
that it deliberately left that detail out because it would clearly
demonstrate how reactionary the police behaved, to arrest a couple of people
for throwing pretzels. We all know how harmful throwing a few pretzels can
be. (!) The demonstration was very peaceful but powerful and assertive.
Actually, several of the police who stood on guard were sympathetic
to our protest; others, like the ones who arrested the severely dangerous to
society pretzel throwers, were not so sympathetic. At any rate, the rally
was a tremendous success. I would liked to have seen even more people there
but with every rally/demo I go to, the numbers get larger and the age range
of participants goes from young children to the elderly. Maybe some day our
local media will get some integrity, soul, and balls to do its job, which is
to report the news, NOT play subserviant whore to Bush. We can only hope.
Otherwise, at some point, we will watch all mainstream media collapse in
disgrace because it will have no integrity or credibility. If I want to
escape reality I can watch a Disney movie or read a fiction novel. But if I'm going to watch news on television, I want the news, not
shameless, depraved Bush propaganda! If it would have been a group
protesting Clinton we all know it would be a totally different situation.
Such is the state of affairs and a sad, tragic state of affairs it is, where
upstanding journalism is dead and, in place of it, we have a cesspool of spineless,
spritually dead sycophants who have the audacity to call themselves news
reporters! But what comes around goes around and karma has a way of
settling the score. --Jeffrey Alan Haas

Rummy's Stupid Human Trick...
Once it was rare for Washington bigwigs to risk their so-called dignity for laughs on TV talk shows. Now the Hollywood route is routine, safe even for talk about somber issues like terrorism, because what better way to trick the American people into believing your administration is not actually orchestrating a massive unprecedented dark-souled global power-grab than to crack weak one-liners on spineless talk shows? Doughy overlord Dick Cheney jokes with Jay Leno about hiding in his undisclosed location like a hairless-cat-stroking, thinly veiled fearmongering puppeteer. Defense Secretary and reputed crocodile Donald H. Rumsfeld chuckles as David Letterman's mom urges him to "put the hammer" on Osama bin Laden because isn't that so funny and cute and never mind the bile and the hate. First Lady and noted hollow mannequin/useless prop Laura Bush, who is about as compelling as a sack of wet lima beans, made light of the president's tussle with a pretzel when she appeared on Leno's "Tonight Show"; he's practicing "safe snacks" now, she cracked, in a weak joke carefully scripted three weeks ago by 16 different Shrub handlers. And Secretary of State Colin Powell fielded questions on MTV, upsetting some conservatives when he endorsed condoms for sexually active young people, as opposed to the usual massive guilt and back-alley abortions and a lifetime of sexual misinformation and angst and dysfunction, which is just about the only mildly independent thought the administration allows him nowadays, given how he's been almost entirely castrated by the Bush/Cheney/Ashcroft Triumvirate O' Sneering Pain.
